Wondering what's the best method, lightscribe, or printable DVD's?

Printable is still king. Lightscribe is cool, but the discs cost more and you get no color.

If you don't mind those things then LS would be best as you don't need a CD printer or have to buy ink cartridges. Plus having to wait for the ink to set can suck.

Both lightscribe and sticky labels are believed to cause disk degradation.

I haven't read that lightscribe causes disk degradation, how
extreme is this degradation?

I have had a light scribe drive in my computer for about 6 months.. I still have yet to try it..

Heck I still haven't burned a dual layer disc yet.. and have had a drive that could do that for a few years..

The dual layer discs burn just like the regular ones. I just have to change one setting, and it burns like normal.

I've done a handful now.

lightscribe causes data degradation because it's actually burning the label you make on to the OTHER side of the writable media foil.

I love revisiting old post.

I'm still a Sharpie guy.

I tried sticky labels for a while, but some of them had issues playing on my older players. Peeled the labels off, and presto...worked fine.
