There has been some small posts around the forums about the google ads... Please read...

This site is FREE to use, and although the traffic has greatly reduced compaired to the million hits a day we use to get, making it a lot cheaper to run, it still does cost money monthly. Business class DSL, overages in bandwidth, hiring linux techs to help, as well as software and upgrades from time to time. (Not to mention my time to maintain it.)

I was just going through the membership software to see about upgrading it as well. (Which is going to cost me ANOTHER 40 bucks) and realized that there was/is only FIVE supporting members still active on their memberships. (Thanks to each of you for your support! You have helped keep this place going for a long time!) DE With his platinum membership deserves a special shout again as well. Thanks so much man.

Now I in no way want to impose on anyone to say you must support the site. The site is totally free to everyone, and I always want to welcome free users here constantly.

If you don't feel you can support the site, can't afford to, or maybe just don't want to, thats totally cool with me. I also think its a small price to pay having goo ads in the posts for free use of the site. (And reading the ads and going to them if they interest you actually really does help!)

Again, I know you oldern days DSSUG users understand this and where i am coming from. Everyone should see the common sense in all of this I would hope.

I am now looking into getting the contributing users support signup working again with the new version so hopefully soon I can have it up and available again for those who wish to support the site. I will look into seeing if I can get rid of all ads for those who support as well as the custom title and supporting user flags we use to have. (And more as we figure out cool new perks..)

Thanks to all of you who have stuck around here for so long. This is truely one of the best online communities I have ever seen or been on and you all make it so.
