Anybody catch the premier last night?

The first show definately got me hooked to tune in next week. Still too early to tell if the plot line will hook me for good.

And damn they had a lot of commercials.

I was going to watch it, but I flipped on Bones and forgot all about Jericho.

Looks quite similar to "The 4400" on USA in that normal people develope abilities. BTW, The 4400 rocks !

So far it is very addictive. We still don't know if it was a terrorist attack, an invasion, or a government test on a towns reaction to nuclear war.

Living in cornland the harvest subplot is a little weird. You don't harvest feedcorn until most of the moisture has left the kernels. And no it was not sweet corn, sweet corn stalks have thier own look, his field was feedcorn. Although you can eat feedcorn if you pick it just at the right time. Maybe that is what they were doing.

I'm not convinced that he's even a 'good guy' as his daughter said he is at the end of the episode.

The leaving the wallet behind was predictable, though. You had to figure they haven't seen the last of the mercenaries yet. I wonder if they will bend and ask for the outlaws help in defending the town? The previews for next week have the town blowing up the bridge that connects them to the world... we'll see.

I had a few of these on my pvr... I missed the first one which i think from the adverts looks pretty cool, missles etc..

The great thing about the pvr is i can FF through the bullshit love story crap (yawn) and get to the guns and conflict stuff.

The last one i saw showed the drops of food etc that were labled as from China.

I suspect I could probably find the episodes on torrent or something?

We watched last night and WOW what a great episode. I pegged the bald guy as soon as they showed him in the conference room. They better not cancel this show.

Just watched it on the "on demand" on Comcast. I can't wait for season 2!

I thought the flag looked funny when it was waving in the one scene that showed the camp. The colonel did say it was the "reformed" government, didn't he? Do you think Valente is the real "president" now?

Vertical stripes and 21 stars (I had to pause the Tivo and count).
The commander said there are still a couple of groups fighting for power and he also said they were the "United States". They must be the bad "United States".

So do you guys really think this will be back for a 2nd season? Seems weird that if it is to return that they killed off the father... Unless of course they somehow maybe make what happened all some kind of a dream sequence or something. The whole episode was weird with the flashbacks to the wedding so I guess they could have some kind of plan to bring him back. Hard to see the show going on without him.. There's till a lot of other open ends as well though the way the season final ended it could just end just like that leaving you to just ponder....

What if in real life he got a better job so they had to write him out of the show?

I was going to. But DTV pissed me off when they said I couldn't keep my current package and rate if I added a DVR.

Yeah, no kidding. I wanted to pay them an extra $6 a month and they said no. Great business plan DTV.

We just added a second DTivo. I hate their own DVRs.
I had them kill off one receiver and just put the
TIVO in its place. This one I juiced up to 220 hours
with a special Seagate HD made just for DVRs.

They don't charge me a Tivo fee because I have the top of the line package.
I would rather give up my hot rod than my TIVOS

We cant live here now without the DVR... Just got a dual tuner HDTV DVR for bell here recently. We also have the older model upstairs. We never watch live anymore either (why would ya) and think we may need to replace the remote soon too because of wearing out the 30sec advance here too. lol

Found an intereting tidbit on the flag they showed in the last episode:

Question #2: What do the 21 stars and the vertical stripes on the new flag represent?

Answer: A little glimpse into our Season Two storyline here. The stripes represent the thirteen original British colonies, same as Old Glory, but they are placed vertically instead of horizontally to indicate a new direction for the country. The twenty-one stars represent the states that have united under the leadership in Cheyenne, Wyoming following the attacks.

So far the new season is AWESOME!

All I know is, the episode two weeks ago was their best one ever.

DB Sweeney got what was coming to him, huh? I loved it. Asshole character - he played it surprisingly well....

Loved the "symbol" of his swinging body at the entrance to New Bern!

I hated to see him go, he made such a good bad guy. But I suppose they have to wrap stuff up...

I have nothing against DB Sweeney - I honestly think he's done a good job with this character.

I'm just glad to see the character get what was coming to him... BANG!!!! DEAD!!!!

I was actually yelling at the screen when Stanley walked up and raised the gun - "PULL IT!!! PULL THE TRIGGER!!!!"

Nice that the writers aren't afraid to spill some blood.... in a goody goody show, Stanley would have raised the gun, paused, pause some more, hand would start quivering, quiver a little more, then a camera shot of Stanley with teary eyes getting more and more teary - then he would lower the gun and say, "You're not worth it!! Rot in hell!"



It was a relief that he actually got to blow him away!


Oh, and the swinging from the tree at the town entrance was just a nice touch.

Nice episode last night... I think the major is one step closer to insanity or jumping off the good ship Allied States of America... whichever comes first.

I liked the way they wrote in that little bit with Jake's grandfather - nice bit of writing. On the other hand, the lame way they tried to include his mother back in the story kind of stunk. Please! She hasn't been in any of the 2nd season and all of a sudden they give her some lame ass scene where she pours herself all over Jake in a "mommy's here to help" sort of way?? Blech!

Should the series be granted a cancellation reprieve, here's where its story could go.

Besides just thanking the audience in attendance for its continued support and teasing what's to come in season 2, the Jericho panel at this year's WonderCon event also looked to the future of the series… as bleak as it may seem right now. In fact, Executive Producer Carol Barbee revealed exactly where the show would go if it were granted a third season, saying they would likely use elements originally planned for Season 2.

"Before we were cancelled, we had to pitch Season 2 to CBS," explained Barbee. "So we had spun out a story that took place in three different cities because this season we really wanted to show the broader country and see what happened outside of Jericho. So we were going to tell the story from the point of view of Jericho; one from the point of view of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and one from the point of view of New York City, which survived the attacks because they were so good at security after 9/11 that they stopped their bombs. But you see what happened in New York City after that. We have a character who's going to be there and making his way to Jericho. So we were going to see New York City and then follow him through the country and get back to Jericho and then at one point all three of the stories would dovetail in Cheyenne. When we came back, we told the Jericho story which dovetails with Cheyenne so we have those other two larger stories that we can definitely tell."

As for episode seven's season/series finale (Jericho was only given a seven episode second season with which to wrap the show up), Barbee had this to say:

"A lot of you have heard this, that we shot two different endings," noted the executive producer. "So what I would say is that if our original ending is the one that airs, you will see where Season 3 will go. We show you what the next mission is and we show you who is in grave danger at the end of this season. I would say that the first season is about saving a town. The second season is about saving a country. The next logical step is the world. So we'll get there."

Nice ending. They leave it so that the series could definitely continue of somebody picked it up.

I wish they would have spent more time on the ending story lines and had a two hour finale. It seemed a little rushed.

Agreed - good show last night, but it was rushed in some scenes. Jake and Hawkins were getting the car ready for the drive to Cheyenne and next scene they are scaring the hell out of Grey in his hotel room in Cheyenne??? Must have been one fast car!

I feel they left it open and that means they expect it to be picked up by someone. All of the stories I read yesterday about it pointed towards SciFi channel. They already have the rights to seasons 1 and 2. (I think 2 of the sources were Hollywood insider and LA Times articles??)

You would think there was some option in that SciFi agreement for the rights to continue the series should CBS cancel.... I hope so - it seems like there could be at least another 20+ episodes in this story.

And SciFi will have money available with the departure of Battlestar.

I was happy. Good wrap up. It could of been a little more drawn out...but I understand the time constraints. I'd like to see it continue, but I'll be happy now if it ends.
