Does anyone have a favorite?? Why is it your favorite?? What do you you think about Cobra's compared to Bel's or Passports??

Oh they are probably equal quality,

won't own anything else.

The Valentine is the best on the market. Valentine was the original designer/enginer for Cincinatti Microwace(Escort/Passport). He had a falling out with them and started out on his own.

They are worth the extra coin. I don't use one anymore, I just keep the cruise on at about 8mph over and never get hassled.
When I have to go silly fast I take it to the track.

I run a large car for a living, and yes the valentine is superior, In design and performance. However very expensive, If your pockets arent that deep, Then go with a Bell, As I have found them to work very well for early detection, which is the GOAL you want, Also It has been more reliable in longivity than any other Product. And Yes Ive gone thru at least 15 of them in all flavours over the years. Again its what U can assorb $, And what type of driving you do. Some people flat out drive like hell all the time, For me it just gets me a heads up whats down the road, as DOT is allways picking on us, I dont want to hear preaching, But I cant make a living within their Restrictive Parameters, as they arent paying my Road taxes, Insurance! Cargo as well as Liability, Large Car payment, Fuel, Tires, Maintaince cost, Tolls, Food on the Road, And so on!!! So I have to push the envelope a little, BUT NOT CRAZY LIMITS, As I still believe in saftey first, amoung my 4 wheelers that Im forced to Coexist with on the same road!! Anyway the Bell's good, as well as the Valentine. Do your homework and dont buy into all the Hype. JMO

Hey Comp, Hope all is well. I just got a 254$ ticket! The cop said I was doing 79 in a 65 with my box truck! I was going up a incline with a slow traffic lane. No possible way. Anyways how do you like your radar detector? I am now shopping for one. Does your jam too?

I also have the passport 8500 blue led's got a freaking ticket the other day with speed warning the cop wouldn't tell me how he got my speed cuz I pointed to my detector and told him it wasn't radar or laser cuz I didn't hear a peep out of it. It actually said speed greater than reasonable warning. Thanks Trooper D Cheese.... smile

Ever hear of a stop watch and a marked distance.. you pass those 2 marks at a faster time then someone going the speed limit would have and its ticket time.... When I was a kid my dad got one except the stop watch was in a plane and an officer on the ground pulled him over. He fought the ticket and ended up costing the State alot more then the amount of the ticket.. The Pilot, The Stopwatch Cop, the Cop that marked the road and the Cop that pulled him over.. all had to attend court and testify. And if I remember right my dad booked the court time for afterhours.. so I'm sure it cost the State Overtime aswell.

not really a Radar Detector. But has any one downloaded and used Trapster on the Blackberry, iPhone, or Android. I liked the concept, especially annoucing school/playground zones or areas with high enforcement. But the program is only as good as the people reporting.

I think alot of it depends on the activity in your area (as in the number of people who have it in your area). I've read a bunch of reviews which are generally positive but the main complaints were from people about not have much listed (which I guess is better than false info listed). My crappy old Windows Mobile doesn't support it so I haven't been able to test yet. Waiting on the new batch of dual core Gingerbread phones to come out before getting a new one.

I like the Garmin feature of adding speed trap zones and traffic cams to your
navi so it announces them when you get close.

The was a program that got pulled. but I don't recall which one it was. One of the complaints was it alerted people of check stops.

I just checked the Trapster site and its still up with links to Iphone, BB, Android, MS, Nokia, Palm, Garmin, TomTom.
