Does the player support the AAC format for music files?
If so I would try iTunes. Free from Apple and does a nice job
converting CDs to AAC format.

The only reason I asekd is that the AAC format loses less quality then
an MP3 and the file sizes are smaller so more songs fit.

For Windows this is totally free and easy to use. It also automatically
goes to the CDDB database and names the songs for you.

It is a great freebie and supported bt the author with udpates etc...

If not, Easy CD-DA extractor is one of the best at doing this. Not free, but it works very well. Will also look up ID3 tags for you to embed into the MP3.

I use audio crusher.. the program is basically just a gui that will take get the track info from CDDB. you then select what codec you want to use, definately worth a look
Default it will do

RAW Audio Data,
Windows Media Player,
Audio Compression Manger Wav's,
and Microsoft Waveform Wav's

due to licensing these aren't included.. but you can download codecs for

MP3: LameEnc,
MP3: BladeEnc,
AAC: faac,
Ogg Vorbis,
Monkey's Audio Lossless Compression

I've always used dBpowerAMP, but I wasn't sure about the ID tags...so I didn't recommend it. Super easy to use though.
