If you buy an unlocked new cell phone, can you just put your simm chip into the new phone and it will have the same features as your phone did? I have cingular now and would like a pda/cell.

I don't know about features, i thought the simm chip just stored your contacts.

EIN Electronic Identification number aka ESN Electronic serial number.

Your account information, as well as contacts/phone book information is the minimum that most sim cards store. By inserting your sim into another phone, it will only allow you to use the phone on your account, providing that it is either unlocked, or from the same service provider as your sim. Any pda-type features are specific to the phone, as was mentioned above........

I was looking at a treo but it is alittle to big. I was asking this because I found a nextel phone that lost a battle with road rash and took its simm out.I put it into another nextel phone and it work fine. I had the phone and dc. I'm sure the person who lost the phone would like all those 900# that was called on it

I do work for a few attorneys that have Kiocerra's, (spelling). They swear by them. PDA / Phone combo, that hotsynchs.

My old phone was a Kyocera. I really like those phones too!
