I have a copy of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and want to make a back up copy of the game. I already have the latest version of Nero and Duel Layer DVD burners on my PC. Is it just a matter of doing a disc to disc copy or is it more involved? Does it matter if the the DVD blank media is +R or -R? I have both types of blank DVD media and blank double layer DVD's also. I only want to make a copy of this one game for my nepheew in Mexico. I am leaving on Thursday so I hope it is not that invovled to do. Any help here would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Well there is more to it than just copying the game Fish.
You have to have a modchip in the playstation so it will boot the backup. When you record a playstation game it doesn't copy the region code (i think, its been awhile) and the modchip bypasses the region code.

Yes it does, depending on what version of playstation you have depends on wheather or not it will play +R's.
You need to find a site and read up on this cause i've been out of it for too long to tell you the lastest and greatest.

Comp is correct. You will need a mod chip installed in the PS2 you want to play the copy on, or it won't boot up.

I backup my games up onto CD-R or DVD-R depending on what the game requires (size of the game file is what dictates the media).

Use the best media possible, as the cheapy 50 disks for 19 bux tend to cause more problems then they are worth.

I've heard that about the cheap disc's and playstation2 Cliffy but the PSX was great for cheap media backups.
I burnt about 100 games with the cheapest media i could find and never had a problem.
The PS2 supposedly works best with the black back media.

I have heard that too, but I have never had a problem with any good brand name disks at all.

I have never tried black backs but have extensive experience in shitty cheap disks.

Most of those shitty disc's work well with other apps so I guess thats why we buy them.
PS2 doesn't like them but when you can buy 2 spindals of 110 for nothing after rebate, well I'm buying the shitty ones.

Yes, my nephew has a mod chip already installed in his PS2.
Who makes black back media and what does it look like?
Right now I have some Maxell 8X DVD-R media to do my burns but I would like to purchase some black back media also.

Thanks Guys!

Excellent! I also have some Memorex DVD+R media right here on the shelf. Are there any other brands that have black backs that you are aware of? That way I can keep an eye out for them to go on sale.

Thanks COMP!

I've only seen Memorex CD-R's, don't know if they make DVD+-R's in black backs.
