So what does it mean.
All Fox owned channels will go dark on 11-1-11 if they can not
reach an agreement.

Fox locals and Fox news will stay on. Some markets may lose Fox locals.

National Geo channels will go blank. (two of them)
FX channel will go blank.
Speed Channel will go blank.
Fox Soccer blank.
Fox Deportes blank.
Fuel TV blank.
Fox Movie Channel blank.
Also all Fox regional sports stations.

So I called Dish and have a 3 room setup ready for installation
on 11-3 with a 922 VIP DVR and 2 HD receivers.

If the channels go blank I proceed with the install from Dish.
If DTV and News corporation reach an agreement then I stay put.

For those that have DTV call them and threaten to jump to Dish.

Essentially all News Corporation wants is DTV to pay the same
as the cable companies, U-verse and Dish are paying.

I will really miss FX and Speed TV. If pushed I will make the switch by 11-3.

Besides if I go to Dish I get about a $40 dollar per month savings
and the Blockbuster package which I pay for right now so that
would be another $10 a month saved.

This crap seems to happen about 4x per year. Already lost G4...no more ninja warrior...f00kers. And yeah, I watch FX quite a bit. Bout ready to scrap tv totally and watch my stuff on the net.

I think I'm going that way.

My kids already watch most of their stuff on the Netflix streaming.

Live sports might be my only miss but I can always put up an HD antenna and get most local lives. ESPN3 might stream some of the ESPN games, not sure. Otherwise I'm all good.

They did this shit with Brighthouse/Time Warner first. Then did the same shit to Dish. Now their going after Direct. Of course, since Brighthouse/Time warner caved, it left them inline to gouge all the rest...

Yup. Just trying to figure out why rates keep going up with all the commercials on these channels? Where is that advertising $$$ going? Shows just getting more expensive to produce/buy or is it just a profit grab?
