I've been having an issue lately getting onto the site (since the switch of hosts). I can connect briefly (as in the site comes up and I can navigate for maybe 10 seconds then get page timed out errors and for several hours I cannot then connect at all). I've tried different browsers, different PCs and even removed my router and connected directly to my modem (no change in symptoms). I've also tried clearing cache, cookies, dns entries, tables in my router, you name it. I am able to connect from my cell phone without issue however. Is it possible the host has banned my IP or ISP (RoadRunner)? Not sure why but running out of guessing and I need my dumbass fix-o-the-day! smile PLEASE help with any ideas!

if your isp uses dhcp unplug your modem for a day or use another modem if you have one. that should clear the routing info and you should get a new dhcp lease the next time you plug it in.

Actually, I tried both. (Deleted ALL my cookies and reset all browser settings to default) Even unplugged my modem overnight in case it pulled a bad config. Right now it seems stable. Either RoadRunner fixed it internally on the network, the host corrected an issue (I swear it was a block occurring by the host firewall as I could tracert up to the external host IP then it would stop before the final hop to the site. Pings would work until I got the timeout then they too timed out, like a firewall temp block would so) or my making changes to my max MTU setting in my router did.

I was having the same issues at home and at work.

It seems to be working alright today though.

Mighta been a bad switch or firewall at the host side of things because I'm all good now too.

This ubb forums software is kind of suckin these days. The features are way behind and who knows when they might update it to a new major version. Maybe never. I have actually switched to vbulletin on my big ATV website (atvcanada.ca) and its way nicer. Only problem is, it cost me about 500 bucks. There is no way I could afford to do that for this site, so for now it remains as it is.

Over the past month or so, I have been alternating between IE, Firefox and Chrome... All three seem to have their good points depending on what website you go too... It kinda sucks, but I now find myself using all three every day.

Me too though I am starting to navigate to Chrome heavily. The recent incarnations of Firefox keep crashing on me and Chrome just seems a bit faster for me.
