Building Windows98 Second Edition machines today, how about that for a throwback!! (No, I'm not that bored, customer wants em) Talk about blowing the dust off that part of my brain... amazing what a 4 gig hard drive and a couple hundred meg of ram will do on that OS though compared to today's bloatware.

This is a trip back in memory lane! I remember how "space age" it seemed when I went from Windows 3.X to 98.

I used 98 for several years in a business setting. Seem to remember several BSOD episodes, which I don't really miss. LOL!!

And I remember thinking how cool Win 3.1 was when a buddy of mine upgraded from his Commodore 64.

Oh, I agree totally. Some of the best games from my childhood were on the C64. But the way of accessing the games was much better on the Win 3.1 system. Plus, I'm sure it was better at performing other tasks...but I wouldn't know, since we only played games!!

roflol

Oh yeah...we had the TRS-80's for my first computer classes in grade school.

Stick the tape in.

Teacher would talk for the next 5-10 minutes.

Hopefully the tape had loaded by that point!
lol

When I was a kid we had a TSR-80.
I remember it was supposed to be color, but wasn't. just b/w. I did see it in color one time while playing game. I was always jealous of my cousins that had a C-64.. It was about 1990 and my dad bought a new computer (IBM Clone) and I was pissed that it wasn't a Commodore.
