About a month ago, sites that contain streaming FLV files quit playing on my laptop. Anyone have a clue on how to get them to play again?

Youtube will come up as "an error has occurred, please try again later". I can get them to play if I attach "&fmt=18" to the end of my http path, but on other sites this does not work

Have did a few searches and it sounds kinda common but none of the solutions that are posted work.

Have already deleted and reinstalled Adobe flash player. Tried IE, Firefox (mostly used), and Flock.

I did a little searching around and kept my eyes open for a work around. but haven't found anything yet. They only thing I can think of is uninstalling Flash and try installing Shockwave, and then reinstalling Flash

I've did that a couple times too. I've been looking for a reason for a new puter....

save yourself $500. backup what you want and break out the recovery cd.
