I've recently lost some of the channels for DiecTV, 277, 278, 304, etc. In checking things on the IRD, I noticed that I wasn't picking up even transponders, only the odd ones. Could it be the LNB? If so, how do I test it? Also, I've trimmed all trees in the vicinity. Any suggestions as to what it might be?

Since I'm only using one of the outputs, I'm going to switch to the other cable and see if the problem continues. I'm already looking into replacing the old IRD with a DVR. I think the IRD might be taking a dump, but I'll find out after I switch cables.

wian,, check the cable connectors for corrosion and if they have some,, replace them.

if your getting the dvr from directv,, get one that is compatible with a slimline SWM(single wire multiswitch)have them put up the new slimline dish than you will only need 1 cable to each DVR instead of two. I'm still waiting for my installer to bring mine over, been waiting for 3 months.

No splitters. ISince I'm only using one side of the LNB, I moved the cable to the unused connection and I now get all of the channels. Looks like one side of the LNB is dead. No problem as I want to go to HD, so I can start looking for an HD dish and DVR.

Oh I can't tell you what I was tempted to post......yeah I;m under a top secret death oath!

I have lost just my HD channels for about 4 months now. Not all of them mind you just the ones I like, didn't bother me as much when I had my old tv but I just bought a 46" that I really like for my bedroom blueray is awesome in my room. I need to call customer service I just don't want to pay for all the PPV's that are on my receiver..... To much Pr0n....
